On 24 September, we held the webinar ‘Grow your business in Europe: Opportunities with DOME Marketplace’, a session aimed at Cloud and Edge service providers interested in expanding their visibility and accessing new customers throughout the European Union.
The session was led by José Luis Marín de la Iglesia, Senior Executive in Data & AI, Innovation & Digitalisation at DIGITEL TS, who presented how the DOME Marketplace ecosystem is transforming the way European digital service providers reach the market.
The European context: trust and compliance as key requirements
During the webinar, it was highlighted that the European market is marked by two trends: the growing need for trust and regulatory compliance, and the fragmentation of Cloud and Edge services across different Member States.
Public and private buyers demand services that guarantee security, data sovereignty and a uniform European compliance framework, something that is often difficult for smaller suppliers to demonstrate.
What is DOME Marketplace?
DOME Marketplace is a European platform designed to give visibility and trust to Cloud and Edge services. It is backed by the European Commission and more than 40 organisations across the EU, ensuring its robustness and neutrality.
At DIGITEL TS, we are actively participating in this project because we believe it is a real opportunity for European providers to reach more customers and compete on equal terms.
The platform incorporates a standardised verification and certification process, which assures buyers that the services advertised are reliable and comply with European regulations.
The catalogue brings together providers from across Europe who meet digital sovereignty and regulatory standards, facilitating an environment of trust for both those offering services and those contracting them.
Benefits for providers
Attendees learned first-hand about the benefits of being on DOME Marketplace:
- Access to a flexible marketing model, whether in informational format (service display) or transactional format (complete online sales).
- Enhanced visibility through marketing campaigns and a unified European catalogue.
- Operational simplification: a single dashboard and billing system to manage orders and subscriptions.
- Support in promoting and accessing a trusted environment recognised throughout the European Union.
In addition, within the platform itself, the Knowledge Centre provides suppliers with practical guides for managing products, orders and subscriptions. This space functions as an ongoing support resource, designed to help get the most out of the marketplace tools.
The market in figures
One of the key points of the webinar was the data illustrating the potential of this channel:
- The European market for cloud and edge services will exceed $100 billion by 2026.
- Cloud marketplaces are growing up to seven times faster than traditional e-commerce.
- In 2021, growth was in the triple digits, confirming the accelerating trend towards recruitment through digital platforms.
These figures show that positioning services in a specialised and reliable marketplace is not just an option, but a key growth strategy.
Marketplace federation: a differential value
Another highlight was the federation of marketplaces, a strategic advance within the European digital ecosystem.
This model enables different platforms to collaborate in the exchange of services under common standards, significantly expanding the scope for both suppliers and buyers.
Interoperability facilitates a service published on DOME Marketplace to be visible on multiple federated platforms, increasing visibility and trust in the market.
How to join the ecosystem
The registration process was explained, based on the figure of the LEAR (Authorised Legal Representative), who ensures that the company’s information and documents are correct and up to date.
Access to DOME Marketplace is via the onboarding portal, where each supplier will find the steps necessary to complete registration, upload documentation, and begin operating.
Frequently asked questions from attendees
During the session, some of the most common questions from suppliers were answered:
- Can start-ups or SMEs participate? Yes, provided they meet the basic requirements: they must be a legal entity registered in the EU, offer their own services (not resold) and target businesses or public administrations.
- What kind of buyers are there on DOME Marketplace? All types of organisations, both public and private, interested in services that comply with European regulations.
- Can personalised services be published? Yes, in addition to standard offers, each supplier may offer ad hoc configurations or tailored packages.
- How long does the onboarding process take? Usually between one and two weeks, depending on the submission and validation of documentation.
The webinar made it clear that DOME Marketplace is much more than a catalogue: it is a trusted environment designed to enable cloud and edge providers to grow across Europe.
If you were unable to attend, we invite you to find out how to join the platform and explore the services that are already part of the catalogue. Joining is easy, and the registration process allows you to try out the platform without obligation for the first few months.
At DIGITEL TS, we will continue to collaborate to bring initiatives such as this to European companies that want to gain visibility, differentiate themselves, and open new markets.
