WhatsApp Business API
This solution enables the certification of communication and contracting processes with electronic signatures on WhatsApp. The solution generates an audit report of the entire flow carried out with robust electronic evidence, which is generated and safeguarded in DIGITEL TS’s test matrix as PSC.
WhatsApp Communications Process
Description of the consent/contracting process on WhatsApp.
The WhatsApp process is highly customizable and allows for additional validations such as OTP/SMS, text transcription, private keys, etc.
Initiation of the Online/In-person Process:
The customer accesses the Digital Signature process through the entity’s digital environments or at the point of sale.
Authentication or Identification:
The identified customer accesses with their credentials, and the unidentified customer accesses through the Digital Onboarding component.
Start of the Process on WhatsApp:
Collection of customer consent to be contacted via WhatsApp.
Acceptance of Conditions:
The customer is asked if they have received and reviewed the contractual documentation. Provision and acceptance of the conditions.
Customer Consent:
The customer’s “consent” to proceed with contracting with an additional identification factor (OTP) is collected.
Signature via WhatsApp:
The contractual documentation is electronically signed, and the finalized documents are delivered to the customer.
Certification and evidence
Electronic certificate with all electronic evidence and electronically signed contracts. Custody.
How does the customer sign a contract?
The customer gives consent to be contacted via WhatsApp (Opt-In).
Outgoing notification sent via Certified WhatsApp.
Access and provision of contractual documentation
Electronic signature with 2nd identification factor via SMS/OTP
Delivery of signed contractual documentation.

Main features of the Solution
- The channel is end-to-end encrypted, ensuring the security of the conversation.
- The exchanged information is not stored on WhatsApp servers This information is stored on each end's systems (customer's device and DTS servers).
- Access to WhatsApp Business API is performed from the EU zone for GDPR compliance.
- There are two ways to use the API: Using a Business Solution Provider (BSP) or through direct integration. DIGITEL TS applies the following WABA usage model through BSP.
